Plan your visit to the caves
Visit to the Upper Barać cave is organised and accompanied by a tour guide. The tours are organised on the guests arrival, so there is no predetermined schedule. Waiting time between tours is from 10 to 45 minutes. It is not necessary to announce an individual visit. The tickets for the visit can be bought on-site, at the information desk.
Each visitor is provided with a safety helmet as well as a hygienic hairnet before entering the cave.
The minimum number of visitors to organize a tour is two adults.
Considering that the Upper Barać cave is a habitat of strictly protected and endemic species of insects, numerous measures are enforced to prevent any activity that could endanger or change the habitat conditions in the facility, among which is the ban on pets entering the facility.
If you have brought your pet to Barać's caves; we will take good care of him too. There is a place for pets at the excursion site where they can be left on a leash in the sight of our staff, during your visit to the cave.
Visit Barać caves only 20 km from Plitvice Lakes National Park and experience nature as it once was, in its most pristine and beautiful form. Descend below the surface of the earth and discover the fascinating world of subterranean life. Our professional guide will lead you on lit path that snakes through stalactites and stalagmites and, during a pleasant 60-minute stroll, tell you about the formation of the cave through millennia, its geological composition and valuable archaeological finds. You will be taken back into time and shown a variety of monuments in stone, the habitat where the cave bear once used to live, the place where a mediaeval bronze necklace was discovered...And then, at one moment, the tour will lead you into total silence and darkness so that you may immerse yourself in a one-of-a-kind experience of the subterranean world that you will cherish forever.
While you're waiting for your group to start the tour, use your free time to relax on lounge chairs or spend it on the badminton field, football field, children's playground or hiking trails.
